Presently, debate is going across India on the matter of providing quota for women in Parliament. We are hearing different voices in the favour and opposition of women’s bill which will provide 33% quota for women seats in Loksabha. Many present Loksabha MP and parties believe that this arrangement can spoil their political legacy by depriving them from their seats. Therefore, we are seeing strong opposition from different quarters. Many parties like RJD, SP are asking for quota inside quote for women in women bill. However, presently all political parties have failed in arriving at some coconscious. For the betterment of women and to increase presence of women in Parliament, it is very important to have this bill passed by parliament soon.
